General Manager of Died In a Plane Crash

Today a shocking screen waited for us, who visited Paulo Emanuele, general manager of the famous aviation photo site died last evening in a plane crash. His plane took off out of Santa Monica Airport around 5:00 PM and lost power. Paulo attempted to return to the airport, but did not make it. Paulo loved Airliners and everything it stands for. According other news sources, there was another passenger on the plane, who was also killed in the accident, but these resources do not mention the passengers name. - 29/01/2009 - 29/01/2009

The Airliners team created a very nice site with aquote from Leonardo da Vinci saying:

When once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been, and there you will always long to return.

Probably this is the most accurate way to describe what we flyaholics feel about aviation.

Guys, please follow his footsteps and continue the great work you are doing there at!

Paulo Emanuele was 47 years old.

Perhaps, had his plane been equipped with a recovery parachute (RP) he could have instead of trying to return to the airport he could have used his speed/altitude for time to ballistically deploy a RP. If we want to honor heroes let’s DO SOMETHING to save the next person who get’s into trouble–and not just curse the darkness.
