Survivor Of Air France Tragedy Dies In Car Accident

An Italian couple missed their flight Air France 447 on 31 May heading from Rio de Janeiro to Paris. We thought to ourselves: these people are really lucky.

Some days later the German-Italian couple Johanna and Kurt Ganthaler arrived back in Europe safely. From Munich they decided to drive home – Merano, Italy – by a rental car.

On the way around Kufstein their car changed lanes for some reason and they ended up in the opposite direction, where they had a head-on collision with a truck.

The woman died in the hospital where she was taken after the accident. Her husband was also injured and he is still in hospital.

After reading such stories, I start to believe in fate.

*gasp* Zsu is right. It is a Final Destination moment. Well, if it was really your time, you can’t avoid it.

Technically they were not part of the tragedy, therefore they were not survivors. There were no survivors of that tragic accident.

If you look for, and believe in “fate”…then “fate” you will find. I on the other hand believe the wind just blows and things happen…and sometimes they happen in such a way that it appears to have some meaning…but it doesn’t…it’s just stuff blowing in the wind…..

    Peace…

WOW. Truly, this is an unbelievable story! I echo Reichan’s sentiments. If it’s your time, it’s your time.

I kept thinking Final Destination when reading this. I don’t believe in fate, if it really happened it was an accident.

It only means that it was the woman who were destined to die, not her husband. They missed the plane because the man was not destined to die yet. It makes sense somehow now.

  22. 23 WHOLETRUTHY June 12, 2009 at 4:58 pm

    random chance…nothing else

  23. 24 paul a June 12, 2009 at 7:26 pm

Clever how ‘fate’ aggregates all those due to die and assembles them on the appropriate aircraft at the appropriate time. Must be batch processing in 200+ lot sizes. THINK NOT.

anybody remember the movie final destination? yeah….maybe this isn’t some coincidence.

  25. 27 Stiletto June 13, 2009 at 1:48 am

Yeah, I just knew I wouldn’t be the only person to utter the words, FINAL DESTINATION!

With the Paris airshow just inches away when the host country official carrier is Air France, and Airbus Industrie plane.

The psychology of air travel and efforts for mood travel, cabin crew, classes and class, fine cuisine, sky beds, etc., etc. All this looks filmsy.

In memory of the departed let’s make this year important for Paris Airshow, and encourage friends to be at ths show.

How many others ‘should have been on the flight’? Perhaps a bigger number than you think – in which case one death is not that strange..

  28. 30 Lukejeans June 13, 2009 at 10:40 pm

    It’s trueeeee ! I saw it on the news ! :0

I don’t know about fate, but stories like this make me believe that when our time is up, it’s up. We can skirt it, but it’ll find us later.

May everyone who died in the air and the lady died in a car crash, rest in peace. Who can reason life? Just do good deeds people and peace will find you.

God is a Son of the bitch who hates us.
If he can do harm to us, he will allways get us this way or another.

This is a lesson you learn from this story
